Pneumonia Revisited

My baby girl woke up with full blown bacterial pneumonia this morning…like, completely out of the blue!! It only took a couple of hours (and a vomit bath, tmi) to know that I was going to have to make a trip to Brenner’s.

  When we first arrived in the ER…taking 78 breaths per minute, they started her on oxygen ASAP

Then they gave her a supercharged antibiotic via IV…she did sooo good!

After x-rays showed definite pneumonia and no improvement after 4 breathing treatments and a steroid pill, they admitted us. So, we’re currently camping out at Baptist getting breathing treatments every 2 hours and an IV for fluids and more antibiotics.  Update tomorrow.

The Good with the Bad...

Some days I wonder why I became a parent...the days when I'm yelling more than cuddling, when they're yelling more than loving, when one drink too many was spilled, when I'm so tired and frustrated I just want to run away and scream!! AAARRRGH (okay, that came out a little piratey, but you get the idea)!!

But just when it gets to be almost more than I can stand....they bless me with this:

and everything is right in the world :) *sigh* I love being a mom...

Rise and Shine…

For those of you who don’t know…our baby girl has graduated to a big girl bed *tear*.  We knew she could handle it, but since she loved her crib so much were not initially planning on making the move so early.  However, on a whim one day we decided to put her crib up for sale on Craig’s List and low and behold it sold in like, 30 minutes! what?? now, what was I going to do?! I really had not thought this through at all…nor was I prepared to watch the bed that both my babies spent the first 2 years of their lives in, drive away with a complete stranger…it was a very sad, emotional day, I couldn’t even watch. The worst part being when baby girl saw her crib on the front porch (waiting to be picked up) and boo hoo’ed like she lost her best friend :( bad mama!

Luckily, she looooves her bed! For the first few days, she never even got out of it by herself (surprisingly). That all changed over the weekend when I heard this over the monitor, “maaaammmaaa….MMMMMAAAAMMMMAAAA!” clunk, crash, thump, thump, thump, “heeeehhhppp, HHHHHEEEEEPPPPP!”

And, I go up the stairs to find this sweetie pie yelling for help, lol -

Disney World Recap

It has been brought to my attention that I never finished posting about our Disney trip!! What? What was I thinking?? So since I knew you were all waiting with bated breath (aha!), wondering what else we did that week…here you go, enjoy!!

Day 4 – Epcot

Day 5 – Hollywood Studios

Day 6 – Rained out at Downtown Disney (no post)

Day 7 – Magic Kingdom

Last Day at Disney :(

For our last day, we decided to go back to the Magic Kingdom since it was the kids’ favorite park. It had the most for them to do and we wanted to make sure they didn’t miss anything. We also had dinner reservations at Cinderella’s Castle…did you know you could do that??? Every little girl’s dream come true, they were all dressed up in their princess costumes…man, I wish I could’ve dressed up :( Cam did though, she went as:

Tinker Bell!!!

Sleeping Beauty was always my favorite…

After dinner we went out to see the last fireworks show before our long trip home the next day…

What an amazing, unforgettable trip…can’t wait to go back!!

On to Holly-woo-ood

Another cold, windy day :) Make sure you get a park schedule when you enter because Hollywood Studios is all about the Live shows.

We saw Playhouse Disney, Live! which the kids loooooved, lots of dancing and singing. We sat up front and this was our view…I recommend sitting in the back, the kids see a lot more AND you’re the first one out :)

My favorite – Beauty and the Beast…it was a-ma-zing! GO SEE IT!

The big rides were here also…The Tower of Terror - I screamed the ENTIRE time! Reggie thought it was hilarious, whatever, I know deep down he was terrified too…he had that nervous laughter, you know the one I’m talking about :) and Aerosmith’s roller coaster, fun, fun, fun!

We also did the Fantasmic! Dinner Package which I totally recommend doing. You get dinner (we ate at Mama Melrose’s Italian and it was yummy!) and a reserved section of seats with a backdoor entrance so you don’t have to wait as long in the line, which could be up to 90 minutes…OMG!

This was the only day we weren’t able to fit in naps and it showed! But we were able to take a break and play for awhile at the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set. Of course they loooved it :) 

A quick word of warning…this park was really small and had toooons of people! It was also full of tunnels (made by ants) for the kids to go into, they would go in one side and you had NO IDEA where they came out – SCARY!!

Epcot!

Everyone told us before we went to Disney World that Epcot was their least favorite….and while it wasn’t my favorite (that would be the Magic Kingdom of course) it definitely had some of the BEST RIDES :)

I recommend:

Soarin’ – easily one of the BEST experiences at Disney World, and you need to get their early…we hit it first. It’s indescribable!! Unfortunately Camryn at 36” was too short, she would’ve loved it :(

Mission Space, the intense version (if your stomach can handle it) – I get motion sickness so i was really worried about this one, but it was definitely worth it! You really felt like you were in a shuttle..

Test Track – I actually didn’t get to go on this one, but Reggie said it was great, really fast…Tyler thought it was fun too until the end.  I guess it was TOOOO fast :)

Journey into Imagination with Figment and Finding Nemo were great for the kids, they loved it!

  The seagulls were saying “mine, mine, mine” hehe…

Couldn’t pass up this photo op!

Today was also Tyler’s birthday and we had dinner at the Garden Grill with Chip n’ Dale. All of the vegetables were organic and grown on site…so impressed!

After dinner we started to go around the World Showcase, we saw:

                China                                                            Mexico

and Germany before the cold and wind were too much for us!

The Great Outdoors

We loooove going to the park, the swing, the sandbox and most of all…the slide! Unfortunately, the park we like is really far away and while we love that our kids get to play with all of the other kids, we want them to be able to play whenever they want. So…….

BRING ON THE SWINGSET!

It’s a little one, but the perfect size for our yard :)

Cam has a newfound love for the swing (still doesn’t take the place of the slide though!)…look at her swing like a big girl *sigh*

Can I tell you how FAST this slide is??? After several butt thumps and face plants, we learned to use our feet and hold on, aha!

In the end, with the money we save on gas and the joy on their faces, the swing set will pay for itself…and of course, we’ll still make it to the park every once in awhile!
