To sew...or not to sew

As most of you know, we are going to Disney World in a little less than 2 weeks, hooray!! I've NEVER been and am sooo excited, probably more than the kids. I can't wait to see their faces when they see the castle and the fireworks and just well, everything!! Tyler can't wait to see Donald Duck so...
we are having a character breakfast with him while we're at the Animal Kingdom.
Anyways, back to the reason for this post...the weather is potentially going to be in the upper 70's and I realized that Camryn doesn't have ANY warm weather clothes! With all the spring sales, I decided to go shopping over the weekend. I got some great deals on bermuda shorts and capri pants...so cute!
I get them home, and low and behold, they don't fit. I am pulling and tugging and just can't get them over the thighs of my little girl :( I've had this issue many times, and I knew I should've tried them on in the store, but seriously, who wants to fight with a 2 year old in a fitting room?!
AAARGH! I KNOW that I'm not the only mom out there with a "healthy" baby girl! She should not be doomed to wearing sweat pants and leggings!
I have decided to bite the bullet and learn to sew my own cute baby clothes (okay, totally committed now)...so, I went to my mom's and borrowed this:
I think it's as old as I am, but I am pretty sure it still works. My mom tried to show me a few quick tips, and laughed at me the whole time. I should be completely offended, but the truth is I've never been bitten by the sewing bug in my whole 31 years of life, and she totally knows this!
I will post pictures of my progress, although it won't be until after Disney. I've got to learn how to turn the thing on first! Wish me luck, I'm going to need it!

Coming soon...

I have decided (once again) that I reeeeallly need to start blogging again. I was never really good at it, or consistent, but I did enjoy being able to share pics and the stories behind them. I absolutely LOVE reading everyone else's blog and just keep thinking to myself "I wish I had time to write like that" (like any of you really have the extra time) but I can make the time. And armed with my new camera (yay!), I will be catching up. There are so many things going on this year that I have to talk about, so stay tuned!
