A wet day at the Animal Kingdom

Day 3 of our Disney vacation was at the Animal Kingdom. We started the day off with a buffet breakfast with Safari Donald…yummm! I’m not a huge buffet fan because I always feel like I don’t eat enough to get my money’s worth, but bring on the Mickey shaped waffles!

IMG_0927 With Daisy, awww…isn’t she sweet? btw, Camryn was in a much better mood concerning the characters…maybe because it was first thing in the morning? hmmm….

IMG_0941 The waitress brought us a birthday cupcake…for breakfast!! Of course, the only thing they ended up eating was the icing, ha!

After breakfast we went on the Klimanjaro Safari ride…you think that it’s just a typical zoo tour but you get to ride -

THIS COOL TRUCK!

IMG_0998 Well, maybe not this one EXACTLY…but you get the idea.

IMG_0962 Baby giraffe…so cute!

IMG_0985 I was sending telepathic messages to this lion…”please don’t see us, please don’t eat us”, because he totally could have!

While we were on the ride, it started to rain so we caught a show…

THE LION KING!! It was sooo goood!

After the show got out, it was reeaally raining! We tried to suck it up, we had ponchos and umbrellas…but it was miserable!! So, we called it a day and headed back to the hotel…we’ll be sure to get the full Animal Kingdom experience next time!

Walt Disney World – Day 2

This was by far the most beautiful day of the week…temperature was in the high 60s and sunny, the perfect day to go back to the Magic Kingdom.

The whole family was able to ride Aladdin’s Magic Carpet-Tyler made it go up and down and Camryn was tilting it back and forth…needless to say, we were ready to get off this ride!

Captain Jack Sparrow at The Pirates of the Carribean…he looked just like Johnny Depp *swoon*
After we got off the ride, this cast member challenged Ty to a duel…

We had our first character dinner at Chef Mickey’s at the Contemporary Resort…you can’t tell here, but Camryn was terrified! In the picture with Minnie, she was shaking the ENTIRE time. Btw, notice her glow worm in the pic? It has been officially broken in…where Cam went, it went :)

The most magical place on earth!

We finally made it to Disney World...yay!! And, can I tell you that it was everything I was hoping it would be?? Sorry it took so long to start the posts but I've been so exhausted that I've been crashing every night. I took tons of pictures and it was hard to narrow down because I really want to tell you every minute of our vacations, but you and I both have lives so here's the nitty gritty...
Day one - Sunday was a lazy, get-to-know the park day so of course we went to the Magic Kingdom.
Just got off the bus and ready to go, go, go!
Walt Disney World Railroad

This was my constant companion for the week. She chose this week to become a complete mama's girl and would not go to anyone...I think I lost 10lbs carrying her around!

Can you see the princesses swirling around with their princes? sigh...maybe in my next life :)
We got to drive this car on the speedway, Camryn was my co-pilot and Tyler went with Reggie. It was really difficult to keep the car straight...I don't know how the kids were able to drive it! I am convinced I got the car with bad steering :)

I think this slide at Pooh's Playful Spot was their favorite thing in the whole park!

We had dinner at 'Ohana at the Polynesian Resort...voted best food of the week by our party, which just happened to be mostly polynesian - shocker :) They served huge skewers of meat family style, the atmosphere was very laid back and so much fun. You even got to learn the hula!

After dinner we took the monorail (the best way to travel, by the way) back to the Magic Kingdom.

Getting ready for Wishes! the nightly fireworks show...it was amazing!! Seriously, made me cry.

After the fireworks we walked around and rode a few more rides...

Dumbo - a favorite For some reason, they thought they could pull the sword out of the stone :)
And then we called it a night...
